Chairman's Charity 2020
Following on from Moz’s success during his Chairmanship, I have decided to again have an ongoing Chairman’s Charity during the forthcoming season. I would like to donate the proceeds to the Myeloma Ward at the LRI.
Myeloma is a form of Cancer that attacks blood cells and bone marrow, and as some of you know, I suffer from this condition and in 2016 had to undergo Chemotherapy and a full Stem Cell transplant. Fortunately, this was successful and I am 3 years in remission.
This is a surprisingly common illness and research is ongoing to find new treatments. The condition cannot be cured, but it can be treated. I have decided to start the charity from the Last Fling weekend at Copt Oak and thought it might be a good idea to make a cash donation instead of sending lots of Christmas Cards to fellow members. If anyone else who is attending the rally would like to do the same, I will have a collection tin in the hall
Also, we will be running a Raffle at the rally and would welcome any donations to add to the prizes available. Should anyone wish to organise any raffles etc during the season then any future donations will be gratefully received.
